Much of the damages to the relations with the traditional allies like France
and Germany, friends like Russia have become the fact. They are very likely going to be the long term damages and may get worse due to the nature of the Iraq war and the deep distrust to the Bush administration.

A short Iraq war won't change the above situation by much. The Iraq invasion is just the initial step for "democratize" the whole Middle East. Big "Preempt Strike" targets are on top of the Bush/Sharon's long-term agenda, everyone knows that.
