Yes, it was necessary. Maybe not absolutely necessary but at this point very necessary. I think Bush and Blair have been very brave in standing up to criticism and moving forward on the only sure course of action. After decades of inaction, and blunders by ourselves and others finally we are moving forward. Saddam has played games all along and will not be missed. I also commend the other Arab nations for speaking out against a War but at the same time offering, some even begging Saddam to go into exile. As far as France, I haven't a clue what their purpose or objective was. Other than to cause confusion at a time when Unity was the prudent choice.
