Daschel always reminds me of the loudmouth midget that the comedians in burlesque shows used to use. The midget would heckle from the audience-always some inane wisecrack, which the comedian would play straight to. The midget's schtick was to come off as an obnoxious little shit, who was thus lovable to all the drunks who showed up to see the topless dancers. Good midget line: "I'm SADDENED that the US is about to win a war and clean up the murderous Middle East. I spent a week in the Middle East one night [yuk,yuk]. Got a little tight, and Saddam and his pals kept stepping on my fingers [rim shot]. Now George Bush is gonna clean house over there-I'm REALLY SADDENED! [snare roll-cymbol crash, midget falls down]". (Audience response-a little slurred: "SHADDAP PUFF! Bring back DA BABES, ya LITTLE SHIT!" Comedian [Ted Kennedy, complete with big shoes and clown nose]: "Well Puffie, I see you've made a lot of new friends tonight!") If burlesque makes a comeback after the 2004 elections, Daschle might have a livelihood...
