I've just HAD it with the reiteration game. Three years I've heard this kind of thing.......... reiterating guidance for earnings next quarter (or revs) and then something is a miss at earnings time.

I trust no analyst any more. The one company I've seen that hasn't played that game is Merq. If they start that, I'm going to just scream. We were better off without Reg FD. There is too much emphasis on short term performance and it moves stocks all over the place. Why bother and make comments on this quarter when the next one is going to negate anything from this one?

Tomorrow most likely software will get hit....... all software.

Amat? Well maybe it's priced in and maybe it's not. You never know who is buying (shorts, fast money) and when they'll decide to dump the shares later.

From what I've seen..... companies that announce layoffs might not go down in the short term, but usually end up lower later. It might help bottom line, but it's not a sign that demand is improving.
