Bert:

On your look into the future... I can't help but keep thinking of that movie "The Stepford Wives".

Let me share something which happened last week.

I was at a dinner party with some friends and some of their friends, a nice couple who were visiting from Connecticut. The dinner conversation naturally turned to what is going on in the US and in particular the 9-11 attack and terrorism. He's a trial lawyer and they're obviously well off with a seven figure home and salary to match no doubt (we also talked about real estate values). His wife, a very attractive and intelligent woman in her 40's (in case she ever reads this) would not accept that Saddam had nothing to do with the 9-11 attack, nor that there had as yet been no absolute concrete proof that Bin Laden was involved.

OK I'm sure some on the board would maybe take either side of that argument but the thing that really got me was when we discussed the Homeland Security Bill... in the heat of the debate she said "I don't mind giving up a little on the privacy issue for a little more security." Well I didn't quite know what to say at that and the table went a bit quiet. And then she seemed to think about what she'd said and you saw a look come over her like a Stepford wife waking up. After that the conversation died off a bit and we called it a night shortly after. But that lady was looking really pensive as she walked towards their car.

I think some people are finally waking up.

T.
