Yes, the Lord was keeping that four engine prop job with leaky seams up in the air. Especially when we had to make 2 landing runs in a 35 knot crosswind in Memphis. I swear the left wing touched the runway and the navigator was holding his eyes shut and crossing his fingers on the second pass. Those reservists in the MATS are a lucky bunch.

Hated to leave after 5 days. 86 degrees, beaches and rain forest back to below freezing in Tenn.

I'll age myself. I was released in 1966.
