I don't pretend to know how the "government votes" differ from the "backbench rebel votes" ...but they were not my figures. BBC. A motion backing the government's position was passed by 412 votes to 149. news.bbc.co.uk As far as the retired generals, I agree. No one knows that this will be one-two-three you're out. I feel confident in our troops that it will be handled, I do not predict short/long. Would a Muslim think twice about blowing the hell out of a Catholic church in New York City? Let me answer that for you...no they would not, and if a Mosque gets hit while taking out a munitions dump...sorry.
