Hi folks! Sorry I've been gone so long. But, hey, life is more than a keyboard, screen and mouse.
What's new and what have I missed?
Oh, by the way, on the France exposed controversy, wouldn't it be more appropriate to say that all nations have been exposed, including America? For sure, France and Russia had some oil contracts in the mill, but I'd bet you dollars to donuts that what angered the United States more was the monetary transactions were backed by the Euro rather than dollars.
Regrding what France gave and got and what Russia gave and got, so also pretty much did America give and get. One thing all three of these nations once had, and that was their leadership within an amazing, perhaps the most amazing ever in world history, coalition against terrorism, a coalition which could have produced results benefitting humanity far beyond the battle against terrorist behavior.
The failure of the Bush diplomacy effort, which all along was more military than diplomatic, has fractured perhaps one of the greatest opportunities this world has seen in a long time. Instead of breeding respect and appreciation among nations of the world, in effect, what this war will spawn is hatred and disrespect. 'Tis sad.
In closing, please do consider strongly that America will enter this war theater with absolutely no 'smoking gun.' |
