Yes, I think the Ultra-rightists are making the same mistake that politicians have made for years: underestimating the intelligence of the middle class. Since they can't think for themselves (and rely on FOX, Rush, Hannity, et al as proxy brains), they can't understand why others don't act as them (I wouldn't say "think as them"). There are some notable examples posting on these boards: hostile, repressed individuals who cannot see past the nose on their face, and couldn't follow a logic argument to save their life. Just as the Demos got spanked in '96 for being complacent, the rightist will also be spanked. Neither side seems to realize that most people are in the middle, and want both sensible solutions and sensible politicians.
