Well, it is partisan politics. Reps did the same in Kosovo: slate.msn.com Comment? Also, Ashcroft has been the biggest threat to the Constitution since...hmm, maybe since Joe McCarthy. I've posted this before, but I don't think many of our rightist friends actually read it. Ashcroft proposed laws that were clearly in violation of the Constitution, at a time when America was scared and vulnerable. Some of the heroes of the fight against Ashcroft were actually conservative Republicans. Even they recognized the danger that Ashcroft presents. He is uninformed and ill-educated in the law; a position he holds in some glee, as it simplifies his job (in his mind): msnbc.com Comment?
