Zo Re...Turkey- the role model for the area? Turkey's been a democracy for 80 years, and they're in danger of tilting the other way... Turkey, until lately, maybe the last 5 yrs, AFAIK has been under the control of the military rulers. It is just lately, that the civilian gov. has been able to have a significant influence upon the governing of Turkey.
