I have nothing against the french language. It was offered in high school and I saw no need for it to me so I passed. I have covered a lot of ground in my time and to date have not run into a situation where I needed french as a second language. Spanish would have helped several times, but it was not available to me in school. Productivity really suffers if we prioritize education curriculums based on social structuring versus useful education.
