Imagine three men who have met a woman alone in a dark alley. Two of them threaten to rape her, but one refuses to cooperate. The two aggressors tell the third man, "It's your fault that we have to rape her. If only we had presented a united front, she would have given up hope and submitted voluntarily."

This is by far the most absurd thing you've posted here, and that's saying something.

So, Iraq is the innocent young girl and the US and Britain are her rapists? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?

You want a crime analogy for the current situation? OK, Saddam Hussein is a mass murderer, heavily armed and holed up in a cabin, occasionally slipping some money and guns to friends who will try to kill the prosecutor or his family. Chirac is his attorney, his self-appointed judge, his gun dealer, and a member of his rigged jury. As attorney, he insists that the prosecution make its case using his hand-picked detectives who aren't capable of or allowed to fully investigate the crimes even if they were so inclined. And when the investigators report that the defendant is hiding evidence, the judge says "take your time - there's no hurry" and tells the defendant "thanks for your cooperation and don't worry, I'll keep that pesky prosecutor off your back" before slipping him another gun.
