True enough, oil has remained relatively cheap in inflation adjusted dollars over the years. That's the main reason that the marketplace hasn't found a substitute. But, I am referring to the other "costs" of continuing our oil binge. Like the cost to our freedom as a result of terrorist strikes as a result of our entanglement in the Middle East. Like the costs to world peace. Like the costs of pollution on health and the environment. True also, that the people who work in the oil industry are just normal people like everyone else. Also true, that there will always be those who control the resources and dictate the policies. The problem is that we are suffering from those policies as a result of increased terrorism and wars.

I'd say I'm largely in agreement with what you had to say, for a change.
