Patriot ships first samples of its ShBoom PSC1000 Microprocessor

PSC1000 to be employed in diverse applications

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 1996--Patriot Scientific Corp. (OTC:PTSC) announced that it has shipped
first samples of its ShBoom PSC1000 Microprocessor.

The PSC1000 is being sold as a development system providing users all the tools necessary to evaluate performance in
diverse applications.

Michael A. Carenzo, president and chief executive officer, stated: ``These deliveries represent an important milestone in
Patriot's development. Users can now experience the benefits of our technology in their specific application.

``Initial purchases of Development Board Kits include a wide range of prospective users. We expect to ship additional sample
chips and Development Board Kits in the coming weeks and anticipate initial production orders later this year. In addition to
JAVA processing, we have targeted high-volume applications which include cable modems, set-top boxes, laser printers and
the automotive industry.''

The PSC1000 is a 32-bit RISC processor, employing the patented ShBoom microprocessor technology in a highly integrated
CPU that includes two processors, a microprocessing unit (MPU) for performing conventional processing tasks, and an
input-output processor (IOP) for performing time-synchronous IO functions.

Users program the IOP to replace many of the dedicated peripheral functions found in other processors.

Other PSC1000 features include an interrupt controller, a direct memory-access controller and a glueless programmable
memory interface. Its moderate die size, low power consumption and compact object code are also important factors
designed to facilitate market acceptance.

The PSC1000 is designed specifically for JAVA and embedded processing. It approaches embedded application from a
unique and patented design to achieve superior performance in a low-cost package.

The PSC1000's integrated system support also lowers overall system cost. Although born from basic stack technology, the
PSC1000 is a novel design supported by numerous patented and patent-pending features.

Patriot Scientific is also engaged in exploiting its ISDN interface technology and its radar and antenna technology.
