SALT LAKE CITY and NEW ORLEANS, March 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Fonix Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: FONX), a leading provider of speech interface solutions, was selected today by Microsoft for Fonix VoiceDial(TM) as best solution for the Smartphone 2002 platform at the first annual Microsoft Mobile Solutions Challenge. In addition, Fonix VoiceDial also won for Microsoft 2002 Pocket PC Phone Edition. The awards were presented to Fonix today at the 2003 Microsoft Mobility Conference in New Orleans.

Microsoft's recognition of VoiceDial validates Fonix's expectation that as Smartphones become more readily available, other wireless carriers -- T-Mobile, AT&T Wireless, Sprint, Verizon, Vodaphone, O2, Orange and Cingular -- will incorporate VoiceDial to meet consumer expectation.
