I don't agree with that assessment. I would characterize the U.S.'s relationship with the world as amoral. We have done a lot of good for the world. Like our struggles against the oppressive Communist and Facist forces in the 20th Century. And all the aid that we provide the world. We're not malevolent like NAZI Germany by just seizing land and resources by brut force (hopefully Iraq will be the exception, not the rule). But, we have used some underhanded tactics to get our way in the world, like installing and supporting brutal dictators and supporting bloody proxy-wars to get our way. That is why I'd characterize our actions in the world as amoral. Morality isn't our primary concern, furthering our own economic and poltical interests at any costs is.
