No, not in the slightest far fetched.

To my knowledge China is a huge oil importer and their attitude could be:

-- first they take Iraq
-- then Iran
-- they solidify their grip on the Saudis
-- after that the UAR is a no-brainer
-- they already have Kuwait by the "cojones"

so where does that put us poor Chinese?

Maybe we should grab Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan...?
