ak (kind of apt?) - so much for dialogue! Don't think much civilisation inhabits your sad soul. Do you think the US could have landed at D-Day without the valiant resistance of the British? How do you think the invasion could have taken place - there would have been great pressure on FDR to carve up the world with Germany - lots of profits all round. And before you scoff at that remember the subterfuge that Roosvelt was forced to resort to with so much isolationist sentiment in America - until Pearl Harbor changed everything. And don't forget the role of Russia. You remind me of those post war movies where Errol Flynn won the war single handed! As an American of course - though he was actually a Brit!
