MAINFRAME ENTERTAINMENT INC. SIGNS DEAL TO PRODUCE
NEW ANIMATED TELEVISION SERIES, MDK', BASED ON PC GAME
VANCOUVER, July 29 /CNW/ - Computer animation innovator
Mainframe Entertainment, Inc., of Vancouver has completed an
agreement with Playmates Interactive Entertainment (PIE) and
Shiny Entertainment to produce and distribute a new animated
television series based on the Playmates and Shiny's action
shooter PC game MDK'', it was announced today by Mainframe
President and CEO Christopher Brough.
The William Morris Agency is packaging the property for TV
distribution, with worldwide distribution rights targeted for
fall 1998. MDK, which was released for PC only last May, has
risen rapidly on the best-selling game charts, and will be
released for Sony PlayStation in September.
The high-action, special-effects laden 3D game involves a
young hero and his dog battling evil robots trying to take
over a futuristic planet earth.
MDK'' is the leading top selling PC video game in Europe
and a monster hit in America.
Among the many properties Mainframe looks at each year for
possible development into television series, MDK'' really
stood out due to its originality, characters, graphics and
other compelling elements,'' explains Brough.
Mainframe is best known for its initial series, the
critically acclaimed, award-winning television show
ReBoot(TM), as well as its subsequent series, Beast Wars -
Transformers. The world's first ever 100% computer animated
television production, ReBoot(TM) is currently in its third
season of production, with Beast Wars in its second season.
Additionally, in partnership with IMAX(R) Corporation,
Mainframe is producing two IMAX(R) Ridefilms(TM) for the
worldwide market. The first Ridefilm(TM) designed
specifically for the IMAX(TM) motion platform is due for
release later this year.
And rounding out Mainframe's agenda, together with
Electronic Arts, a world leader in the development of computer
games, the company is producing a computer game based on the
ReBoot(TM) property, Countdown to Chaos'', which features real
time animation produced at Mainframe. The game debuted at the
E3 trade show and convention this summer in Atlanta, and will
be released worldwide in the Fall of this year.
Mainframe Entertainment, Inc., a world leader in 3D
computer animation, produces state-of-the-art animation for
television, motion pictures, interactive media and motion
rides from its digital studios in Vancouver. Its staff has
grown to nearly 200 since the company's start in 1993.
Mainframe also develops and owns a number of proprietary
software programs that enhance and accelerate animation
production processes, and manages a highly successful
merchandising and licensing program based on its properties.
Mainframe Entertainment Inc. is publicly traded on the TSE
under the trading symbol MFE.

Looks terrific, D.E. do you know anything more about the 400K shares sold today. Speculation is interesting, but facts help me make decisions. ;-)
If you don't know, could you possibly point me in the right direction to find out.

Wanting to buy more,
