I think you're right. If a moderate Democrat like John Edwards from North Carolina wins the nomination, Bush will be toast in 2004. A more liberal Democrat like John Kerry of Massachusettes might give Bush a better shot at a 2nd term. The country isn't getting any more liberal lately.

I've always been a Democrat and have been trying to give Bush a fair shot. But, I honestly believe he is leading the country down the wrong path. The first thing he did was announce that he was breaking off diplomacy with North Korea and we're now witnessing the fruits of that brilliant move. Too much emphasis on police state tactics. Too many bogus terrorist warnings. Too much war. Too little attention to domestic issues like the environment. Bush 43 is settting up to be a one term President. Especially if the economy is still in the doldrums by this time next year.
