Australian forces also contributed to the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan.

Don't forget the "Kangaroos" had also fought in the Korean War (1950) and in the Vietnam War (1964-1973).

In the Korean War, allied forces had a very hard time coping with the North Korean terrain and harsh winter. This partly explains why they were driven back to the DMZ (38th parallel). With the exception of the Turks, many allied prisoners fared very badly as prisoners of war: their stomachs could not cope with the North Korean fare!

In the Vietnam War (a war which nobody wanted), Australian soldiers/volunteers had a relatively soft and cushy time.

While ostensibly fighting for "freedom" (also freedom-shit), the Aussies were actually fighting for something else. Of course, the Aussies had never forgotten the fact that the Japanese humbled them in WWII and forced them and the US general MacArthur to retreat to Brisbane. Fortunately for the Aussies ("kangaroos") the Japanese lost the war in the Pacific.

By the way, in case you didn't know it yet, Australia was a dumping ground for undesirables from England from the late 1700s on........ Right now, in Oz land, there are lots of white folks and "abo" blacks who are perpetually on welfare not because there is no work for them but because they are damned lazy blokes who think their country owes them a living!
