It is, admittedly, early on.
But if the war continues as it looks it may, the anti-war liberals will have been dead wrong on just about every count. No mass civilian casualties; some, but not massive numbers of military casualties (at this point, on either side); no massive damage to Iraqi infrastructure; thus far no chemical or biological weapons unleashed; no evidence yet of millions or even thousands of refugees; the Kurds aren't fighting the Shiites.
I'm starting to think the people who REALLY had it right were, were, well, Bush, Rumsfeld, Perle, Wolfowitz, Rice, Cheney, and Powell. "We don't have to bomb them; we'll SCARE them into submission".
Let's hope it plays out this way. |
