clearly, if there is an opportunity to achieve war aims without use of maximum force and large numbers of casualties, why employ such force?

So far so good...and just a few here underestimated the planner's abilities to wage a controlled military beginning in favor of an all out integrated psy-op campaign first , which is far more humane and civilized than the initial "shock&awe" so many were led to expect .... which is not necessary if one can get the opponent to surrender by himself, though still an option later on.

what were the estimates of Iraqi dead that some were
posting here ? 500,000? (sure are alot of dreamers in the world , living in the past)

<G>

Bahgdad will be surrounded tomorrow , Basra will be also and cut-off along with Tikrit next. It's all over.

The sooner the rebuilding begins the better ...& rebuilding will begin immediately with first arrivals of assistance riding in the first waves with the military. Wonder which rock they will find Saddam hiding under?

(so sad the French will get to play such a small part ,
they can kiss their $4bil contracts adieu)
