The problem is probably less with price than with PR. Just because a company puts out a press release, that doesn't mean it gets read. Being on the PR Newswire, or other news wire just means you've paid a fee to be there. A good PR firm has the contacts to make sure the press release gets read and understood by brokers, funds, well-heeled traders. Then newspaper editors start looking for the reason for the price move and read the press release. But if the PR firm (or department) hasn't cultivated the right relations, the press release sails by with hundreds of other floating in cyberspace.
