Christ didn't exist either. But Israel's claims to territory are as much in dispute as the other parties'. Archaeology keeps making new discoveries which bring into question many of the tenets of biblical belief. For example did the Exodus occur? But discoveries in this field are explosive politically, with so many claims and counter claims. It's conscience salving to describe the Arabs as nomads. Makes the idea of massive displacement more palatable.
