I agree with you 100%. Shrub probably wanted the war as he thought that this is the cheapest stimulus he can give to the economy and the markets (since his prior two stimulus plans showed no progress). If he needs to be relelected in 2004, time is running out for coming up with a stimulus that works. Taking Saddam out for $100b is cheaper (with better odds) than coming up with another $500b package that may not work. -g-
