If you believe that I urge you to buy stock now.
Go with your gut. I'll stay in cash. I see this stock rebound as a temporary high boosted by relief about the war and so forth. All good news so far. But if companies suddenly start hiring and investing in new equipment I will be shocked. I hope I'm wrong but I expect more recessions until Bush's economic policies are changed. We'll see what performs better over the next year and a half, stocks or cash.

As for GW, like his father this is his time, so long as this war continues to be successful. Very good news and we're all happy about it. He might even get up to his father's 90% approvals after the Gulf War for a week or so, but then it will be back to reality.

This war has been a huge diversion from our real problems. And we have so-so many of them. No doubt it could help though, especially if they keep the price of war down, there's no big terrorist attack and the oil-fields are not all torched.

In 2004 though, Americans will be war-weary. There is a time for war and a time for peace. A time to spend and a time to earn. Americans will look at the many trillions of wealth this country has lost in four years and decide to elect a new leader who can take us in a more prosperous direction, President John F. Kerry. It will be a tough campaign but moderates will go with Kerry. And they are the ones who decide all national elections.
