I'll note that these protests are not in Iraq, and do not support what you predicted. These images will fade shortly, and will be replaced by a joyful Iraqi populace that is happy to have saadaam gone.

Meanwhile, the Video of Safwan has been aired. The most striking aspect of this video was a young Iraqi man, He took off his shoe and beat a poster of Saddam with the sole of his shoe. When he was finished, he paused and held out his shoe to make sure the camera saw that it was his shoe that he was using.

The significance is deeper than it may appear but is not lost on anybody who understands the culture of the region. Since you are soooooooooooo clueless I will explain.

In Arabic culture, using the shoe in this manner is an extreme insult. It is such a sensitive issue, that if you were visiting an arabic neighbor, sitting in his home and crossed your legs in such a manner that would show the bottom of your shoe, it would be considered extremely rude.

Let me simplify it even further for you:

Da dude dissed saadaam - on worldwide TV.
