<< Basra is almost totally Shi'ite, they are NOT Sunni, they have been the most oppressed of all, the most persecuted. >> Feels soooooo good having America liberate them! America was their only chance to taste freedom. What a great feeling! << And thanks to BushI betraying them in 1991, many many thousands were killed for having supported us against Saddam Hussein. >> Hey! I was feeling good. Did you have to bring that up?
I don't understand how George H. Bush can sleep at night, knowing how many people died because of his actions. At the time, I was furious! Watching the news reports of thousands of Kurds and Shiite Muslims being slaughtered by Saddam, while our troops were nearby and did nothing. We could have stopped the slaughter very easily. It reminded me of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. Those poor, emaciated Jews rose up against the Nazis, with a few rusty weapons, rocks and their bare hands, against German tanks and machine guns. The Russian troops were at the outskirts of Warsaw, and could have easily saved the Jews. But, the Russian troops were ordered not to interfere. 60,000 Jews died. |
