Be careful Craig! Home Depot could swallow Eagle without any trouble whatsoever. As testament to this, HD is opening 200 stores this year bringing their total to around 5000 or so while Eagle plans to open a few bringing its total to 50 or so. HD probably has enough cash to get a controlling interest in EAGL and do what they want. I hope they don't and their philosophies are very different so it wouldn't make much sense except that the two don't have very many competing stores and HD could convert them very easily. I just returned from a trip to Seattle and the parking lots for the three stores I saw were indeed full although they weren't very large lots. Here in Atlanta, the parking lots are about 4 times as big as those I saw. I think their concept is sound and the Ernst closing has benefitted them more than any other chain so we should see good numbers this quarter.
