I hate to admit it, but I am past a half century in age and the one thing I have learned is that there is always more than one angle to a dispute and NO-ONE wins a pissing contest.

I think the US and Britain gave diplomacy several more years of effort than it deserved in this case. The french excuse for diplomacy is nothing more than pure ignorance. You seem concerned that the US decision is based on money....well french diplomacy (no matter what the cost) is based on money....money they are owed for the weapons sold to Iraq.

I do not for an instant believe the Americans are saints, but I prefer to have them for friends than any other choice....the backstabbing french in particular.

The blame game????? Non-productive...always will be. Spin??? Everyone plays that game...it just seems that the left is better at it.

Cretien spineless??? I live in BC..(lots of left wing nuts here)and have yet to hear anyone defend the prick. People come into my business every day and even the ones that normally don't say much are now talking about how they feel disgust, shame, and humiliation. I hope that the feelings linger long enough to put the liberals out of power in ottawa before they totally destroy what little faith is left in some of us.
