but does that make any difference now? It does to me... Hitler killed himself on April 30th, 1945.. But his death was not announced until May 1st, by Admiral Karl Doenitz. And the war in Europe did not end until May 8th... Right now, someone in Baghdad is trying to figure out who's going to be left in charge and who's going to hit "the road to Damascus".. (which is about to be closed by 3rd ID).. And until that individual is identified, there can be no meaningful surrender agreement.. And it's likely that they are also going to put up stiff resistance from Republican Guard units in order to leverage themselves into the best deal possible (give us this and that and we won't make you engage in house to house fighting) Hawk
