i do have concerns that bush will not show the same resolve wrt our own state department that he has with the commitment to rid saddam of WMD's.

the pressure is going to be huge to return to the status quo....a naive desire to "kiss and make up" as though that will change the fundamental rift.

this idea of the eu (with chirac as the leader) becoming a counterweight to the u.s. should convince him that we cannot depend on old europe as true allies.

they are allies of expedience, not principle.
