No, once the fighting begins everyone in congress supports them. Daschle is a moderate. He was right to criticize Bush's lack of real diplomacy, also right to support our troops as fighting begins. When he made that speech you are refering to it was the day before the war began. Fair game.

One bit of proof Bush's lack of diplomacy costs us is the move by Turkey into Kurdistan. Veyr dangerous. Could be a land grab and/or set off a civil war betweeen two of our allies. When you alienate allies you are doing needless harm to your cause. We dont need them to defeat a second rate army like Saddam's, but we do need them in other ways.
