The problem with that is (and has been with any corrective count which begins at the July low) is the August 22-October 10 dump is a great-looking impulse and likely not part of any corrective pattern.

Nope, I think if you are counting a correction you almost have to begin at the October low.

Edit-Interestingly, I think the end result is it may very well behave the same anyway as the top line of your triangle would be the putative inverse H&S neckline about which there is talk lately. Throwover then failure.
