Gee, Father Terrence emailed me this early this morning because he couldn't get through to SI to post. It seems whatever the technical problem was, it has been fixed, since he has since then been quite prolific here!!

Answers!

Are you advocating that we go back to property owners only voting?
YES.
That seems a little radical or something!
SO WAS THE IDEA OF THE U.S. CONSTITUTION.
While it is true that property owners seem to have a pretty big stake in
a stable society, so do parents, and all adults, really.
NOT TRUE.
It would tend to keep society very conservative, I would think. No?
NO, MORE LIBERAL IN THE ORIGINAL POLITICAL SENSE.
Man may be natural because he is a part of nature, but certainly there is
his better, higher nature and then his most base, instinctual nature.
THERE IS NO HIGHER NATURE THAN "A" IS "A" -- AND MAN HAS A COGNITIVE,
THINKING BRAIN, ANIMALS HAVE INSTINCT.
It seems that a natural being would want to live naturally, which would
mean in nature, which would mean he cannot at the same time destroy the
natural environment.
NATURE EVOLVED MAN'S BRAIN WHICH ALLOWS NATURE TO EXERCISE DOMINION OVER
ITSELF.
I disagree here, Terry. We are not stacked right on top of each other
yet, but our huge population has stressed the earth's natural systems
greatly. I think most scientists would also disagree with you!
HAVE YOU TRAVELED EXTENSIVELY? I HAVE. MOST OF THE EARTH'S LANDMASSES ARE
RELATIVELY EMPTY. AND WHAT OF THE OCEANS?
Well, the earth suited our needs fine until there became too many of us,
and we did not respect what we had, and despoiled it.
WHAT IS "TOO MANY"? 1 MILLION, 10 MILLION, 100 MILLION, A BILLION?

What is your guarantee that your earth restructuring will work flawlessly
and timelessly?
THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES IN LIFE OR EXISTENCE.
Once you are playing with such forces, one small mistake--an errant
microbe or something--could destroy everything.
NON-SEQUITUR: SO WOULD A METEOR CARRYING ALIEN MICROBES THAT ENTERED OUR
ATMOSPHERE (AS WAS PERHAPS THE CASE WITH PARVO-VIRUS?).
Personally, I would rather take my chances with nurturing and restoring
what we have.
THAT IS TRULY A CONSERVATIVE PHILOSOPHY, ONE BORNE OUT OF FEAR AND LACK
OF FAITH IN THE FUTURE OF MANKIND.
I think nature may well be more powerful than man as a FORCE, not a silly
god to be terrified of or superstitious about, but simply because it
dwarfs us.
AU CONTRARE! THE SUPERIOR HUMAN MIND DWARFS NATURE.
I totally agree that we need to learn as much as possible. I think nature
may be a more creative force than we are, and works in ways we cannot yet
even fathom.
WOULD YOU CARE TO ARGUE THAT POINT TO A RACE 1 MILLION YEARS MORE
ADVANCED THAN WE ARE?
Sugar Magnolia would sure be a happier woman--she misses him [JOHN GALT]
so much she is just moping about, not even feeling like posting or
anything!!
WHY DOESN'T SHE E-MAIL HIM IF SHE MISSES HIM SO MUCH?
