I think you hit the nail on the head, Kenneth. This is the problem with the whole pre-emptive action theory. How much pre-emption is acceptable? It's a real slippery slope. Now, don't get me wrong, I still think getting rid of Saddam was a no-brainer. However, the U.S. will come out looking bad no matter what we do from now on. We're not going to get our shot at Syria or Lebanon, although, they aren't pure as the driven snow either.

Anyway, you've probably noticed I'm very conflicted about this whole thing. I feel like we have the right End in mind, but I also feel like the Means we're using to get there is problematic at best. I think the Bush administration is full of very smart people, but I wish they had better negotiator and/or dimplomatic staff in their ranks.
