U.S. Attorney says no Minnesotans involved in terror scheme
The U.S. Attorney in Minneapolis says two men arrested in connection with smuggling hundreds of thousands of dollars to Lebanon are not part of a national sweep aimed at cracking down on terrorist-related finance schemes.

The Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement mistakenly included the Minneapolis case in press information it gave to the Associated Press. U.S. Attorney Tom Heffelfinger says while a grand jury indicted the two men and searched four Twin Cities tobacco stores, they have not been charged with any terrorist-related activity.

"There is a statement from an official in Washington that creates the implication that all of these cases are terrorism cases and that wouldn't be accurate," he said.

Heffelfinger says the two men have been charged with trying to illegally conceal and send cash to Lebanon.
