Bush doesn't want a democracy in Iraq. He wants control of their oil and military control. A democracy would nationalize the oil and protest long-term US presence.

I agree with you Bush will not get a second term. Unless we're attacked by some crazy country which would play into his hands. And I dont expect any such attacks. The one fear would be if North Korea is stupid enough to attack South Korea. Then Bush would have an emergency war to fight and it once again silence coverage of his domestic quagmire.
