To bad the French were so adament about using their Veto power. I would have much rather seen the US and GB voted down in the security council. At which point they would have started the war anyway. Even if they had managed to bully/bribe enough countries to pass the resolution, not sure what moral weight that would have given them.

In the end the US regeime is bringing up the threat of French Veto to hide their own diplomatic failures.
