I'll bet if this were Blair's war (as opposed to Bush's war) we would have gotten further with the UN though.

The Bush rhetoric early on was just incredible. I'm talking about all the "regime change" bullying. This turned the court of public opinion against the US and therefore the mission, imo. All of this should have been quiet. Anyway I doubt anyone would have been stupid enough to openly advocate assassination except Bush. This would have been a tough mission anyway, being a pre-emptive strike and all, but Bush really destroyed any possibility of diplomacy, so whatever Blair thought, it was too late. JMO.
