Byrd and Daschle supported Clinton when he signed on to our policy of regime change in Iraq. What part of this is the left missing?

Even though I don't think its possible for most on this thread to understand critical thinking wrt world diplomacy, I'm going to give it a shot with this.

You say Clinton signed on to regime change... ok... and how was this handled- did Clinton 1) go on TV with his spokesman and demand "regime change" (aka assassination) loudly and publicly for the world to see, 2) have his spokespeople say "it only takes one bullet" wrt the Clinton iraq policy, 3) loudly proclaim that "we're going it alone" and ignore the UN before any negotiations even start- etc.

Answer - NO. Why? Because Clinton, despite all his faults, knew how diplomacy was supposed to work. Some stuff just needs to get done in back rooms, if the US wants a certain dictator GONE- there are ways to handle it... maybe support a coup like Pinochet, or don't ask anyone just do it in private or whatever.

The entire issue with Bush is DIPLOMACY not intentions. And on that scale he is a major f*ck up.
