A free and prosperous Iraq, with a people who are glad to see saddam gone will be the legacy. This will not span a new generation of terrorists. There are radicals who will do so irregardless.

I think there is a good case that this war will spawn more terrorists. These people get into it because they are angry 16 year old kids. Once in it becomes their world. Whether this war is justified or not, it adds arrows to the quivers of the extremists who recruit these 16 year olds. Of course, and here is another can of worms, the Sharon admin in Israel (in contrast to the Rabin/Peres admin) and our failure to respond evenhandedly is a huge argument for the extremist recruiters. The war will just add more fuel to the fire.

How much is unknown, but it is obvious that it will. To proclaim otherwise is putting ones head in the sand or covering ones eyes to "see no evil".
