You are correct. This also illustrates the true reason we are at war. The fact that Saddam has the potential to destabilize world economies. Additionally the argument that Saddam helps the Bin Laden is absurd given that Bin Laden tried to raise an army to over throw Saddam, and even asked for help from the Saudis, who declined of course.

The argument that we could get oil from Iraq by lifting the sanctions is true but has NOTHING to do with the real reason we are at War. It's not that we couldn't get oil from Saddam, it's that Saddam is likely to use oil as a bargaining chip, unlike the Saudis who have increased oil production obviously to kiss our ass. (Which I will remember when I next fill my truck with gas. Our admin will also remember it if their is any indication of a democratic movement in Saudi Arabia.)

As I've said before this may be enough justification for the war, but the continued argument that we are against this dictator because he is a bad guy just doesn't cut it in light of our support of other evil dictators. It's an argument that is easy to debunk. We like dictators that are puppets like the Saudis and dislike dictators who are problematic like Saddam. Easy to understand... for most people.
