Saw the Al-Jazeera interview.....hated it. You see innocent soldiers caught up in this mess. Really hurt me to see that one soldier looking from side to side obviously in lots of fear. Now I understand the reason why everyone was upset about Al-Jazeera's methods. Also another reason to go to war only when all else fails.
(At least that video of the soldiers now put the burden of protecting them on the Iraqi military. Maybe in this war, it is better for the prisoners' safety with the way it was presented. At least now the whole world knows the prisoners are)

More and more reason for the US to respect every international conventions.
There should be absolutely no deviation from it at all..including those Al-Quida held in Cuba. There were questions of the treatment early in their detaining plus the ability to hold them indefinitely has to be answered as well. Just to call them detainees instead of POWs is not very convincing to the rest of the world and I believe the US should call them POWs..especially as they were taken prisoner in Afganistan, which was a war. Playing games with wording of their status does not go over well with the international public. The US should be ALWAYS leading by example!

Don't like Bush for what he has been doing since he came into office. He would have had less opposition to the Iraqi war had he showed some respect for international opinions on many issues. I am an optimist that thinks he will start thinking differently or at the very least, a new president in 2004 will.
