They have made a huge number of mistakes. The war plan should have involved dividing the cities from one another and occupying the possible retreats across the desert. You don't let people fight over and over again by retreating. You force the issue if you control air space: fight or surrender.

AND YOU DON'T LET ANYBODY WALK PAST YOUR POSITION TO PASS ON WAR INFORMATION TO OTHERS. WHAT THE CHRIST IS GOING THROUGH THEIR HEADS??

This has been a bad day. NO BLOODY EXCUSE FOR IT, EITHER.
