The UN had 2000 peacekeepers in Rwanda. When the killing started, instead of using more peacekeepers, the UN WITHDREW the peacekeepers! Incredible! What followed was 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus being slaughtered by Hutu extremists between April and June 1994. The UN stayed out for three months during the bloodbath. << Peacekeepers are not useless at all. >> I don't know what is more useless, UN peacekeepers, or your opinion. <g>
