Buckey, I think a big consideration is the type of scoring used. If the scoring is weighted according to seeding, seems to me if you can pick upsets in the first couple of rounds and then ride the remaining favorites, you'll do really well. If you really want to get technical, check out this research paper entitled "March Madness & the Office Pool" by a professor at the Yale School of Management: som.yale.edu. His method is to start with the championship and work your way backwards. I think I'll try that... next year of course.
