I certainly never predicted that the coalition would be met with flowers, although that would be nice, of course. When push comes to shove, I honestly don't give a screw if the Iraqis establish democracy and peace and light and all of that happy crap. As many are so fond of saying, it's their country. Maybe Iraqis are genetically resistant to democracy, as some argue. I am not Iraqi, so I don't know. Just get rid of Saddam, his regime, the WMD and the means of delivery, and we'll talk about the future afterwards. I hope, sincerely hope, that the Iraqi people will establish a genuine democracy. But I realize that we can't shove it down their throats. It really is up to them. We can give them support, but we can't make their country for them. They have to do it.
